Berhampur, Aug 30: Headed by Dr Saroj Mishra, ADMO of Berhampur City Hospital, a five member team on Tuesday arrived at the Blood bank of the MKCG Medical College and Hospital to investigate the matter of alleged HIV+ blood transfusion to a minor thalassemia patient.

According to the information, the 4 year old minor boy, has being receiving blood from the Red Cross blood bank and the child had been given blood for 71 times during the last four years.

After the allegation came, superintendent of MKCG medical college and hospital, Ashok Kumar Behera said that, the blood had being properly tested before transfusion.

But district collector ordered a probe in to the matter.

Reason being behind the matter, i.e., though the parents of the child are not affected by HIV, then how the boy could get infected by HIV.

Notably, last month when the minor fell ill, on testing it was revealed that he was infected with HIV.
