Cuttack, Sept 17: On charges of giving low quality medicines to cancer patients, the vigilance authorities arrested a doctor couple named Surendranath Senapati and wife Dipti Rani Samant on Friday along with Sudhansu Das, owner of JBSL medicine company on charges of making sub-standard medicines.
The doctor couple was former head of radiology department of Acharya Harihar Cancer Hospital.
All of the arrested have been sent to jail. However, as per sources, the hearing on the bail plea of the couple will be conducted today at the special Vigilance court.
Few days back, in a case of disproportionate of assets, 6 places of the doctor couple were raided by the vigilance department.
