Don’t Be Panic, Follow Covid Rules: Director, Public Health
Bhubaneswar: April 29: Dr. Niranjan Mishra, Director of Public Health, has reacted to the situation in the state. “Right now we’re moving from pandemic situation to endemic situation,” he said.
Further, he added, ‘There will be a spike in between. Don’t worry about it. The virus does not go anywhere, but it does reduce the risk of infection. If the numbers increase, we will not have much trouble preparing for it. Because we have experience, we have the infrastructure, we have the medicine’.

Now the central government’s guideline is Evidence-Based Decisions Making. That means taking action where it grows. So action will be taken on that basis. The state now has 15 daily infections around. But new cases are coming in 5-6 districts. The number of active cases is less than 100. There are no patients at the hospital. So don’t panic now. If the number increases, we are prepared for that. Arrangements can be made immediately’, Director Public Health said.
He said, ‘Despite reports of an increase in the number of covid cases in the third wave, people have not been hospitalized much. Whether it’s vaccination or our awareness, we could fight Covid for the past two or three years.
He asks people to follow the Covid rules, wear masks and Keep social distance.
