Bhubaneswar: October 17: Durga puja began with high spirit across Odisha from Tuesday which marked Maha Saptami Puja. Not only in twin-city Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, entire Odisha is in festive mood. Wearing new colourful clothes and all, residents have been stepping out for pandal-hopping.
Today is Mahastami. Hundreds of devotees are seen with their offerings in front of Puja Pandals. Puja Committees of respective pandals have been taking care of devotees as they can have hassle free darshan of the mother Goddess.
To attract more and more devotees, Puja Pandals of twin-city have developed beautiful structures spending lakhs of rupees on interior and exterior of pandals. Most of the pandals are seen replicas of famous monuments of the nation and world.
Some of the pendals have created examples of inclusivity in festivals with their latest designs and concepts.
To beautify the pandals and surroundings further, Puja Committees have taken care to present best of light decorations, which have been also enhancing the beauty of the pendals.
Durga Puja is being held in more than 320 Puja pendals of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.
