Dussehra festival ends, Idol immersion today

Bhubaneswar, Oct 24: The-three day long celebration of Dussehra will conclude with immersion of idols set up in the pandals across Odisha on Saturday.

Twin city Commissionerate Police have made elaborate arrangements by deploying 35 platoons of force during immersion.

A total of 169 puja committees including Saheed Nagar, Nayapalli, Chandraskeharpur and Old Town will participate in the immersion procession.

The administration has created four artificial ponds near Kuakhai river, Bhargavi and Daya rivers for the immersion keeping in mind the pollution of rivers aspect.

In Cuttack, 60 platoons of police forces have been deployed to maintain order during the procession of idols.
Besides, 28 aid post have been set up and 13 CCTV cameras have been installed on the route of the immersion procession by 157 puja committees.

Two artificial ponds have been created in Kathajodi river and at Mahanadi river for the idol immersion in the Silver city.
