Boudh: The East Coast Railways issued a clarification over the tunnel cave-in in the Khorda-Balangir railway line. A small mound of mud caved-in the tunnel number 4 (T-4). It happened due to the weak mud and the incessant rains in the area.
The 4.1km long Adenigarh-Charichhak tunnel-under the East Coast Railway collapsed near the Nuagaon reportedly between 4.30 PM and 5 PM on Monday due to which about a 30-meter wide hole was formed.
“There were no workers inside the tunnel during the caving in, thus no casualties have been reported,” said the East Coast Railways. It will have no impact on the completion of the tunnel. The areas has been sealed.
