ECoR to run 140 Yatra Express Special trains to puri during Ratha Yatra

Bhubaneswar: June 21: East Cost Railway (ECoR) will run 140 Yatra Express Special (YES) trains to puri, to meet the rush of passengers during the nine day Ratha Yatra Festival starting from July 6. With the First list of Special Trains, the officials of ECoR informed , will run from Khurdha, Bhubaneswar, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Paradip, Berhumpur, palasa and Visakhapatnam ,bhawanipatna, Keonjhar, Bangiriposi, Sambalpur and Jagdalpur between July 5 to July 16. Six trains will operate on the occasion of Netra Utsav while 26 to run on Gunducha Yatra. As per the information given by ECoR authority, ECoR will run around 40 YES trains during the occasion of Sandhya Darshan between July 7 and July 13, 22 YES trains for   Bahuda Yatra falling on July 15 and 24 trains for Suna Behsa besides 6 trains to be operated on very next day of Suna Besha.

 

As per the demand made by the people of Midnapore and border areas between Odisha and west Bengal and keeping in mind about the number of visitors from Tatanagar and Raipur to puri, ECoR has planned to initiate special train on the route of Midnapore, Khadagpur, Tatanagar, Rouorkela and Raipur with the help of nearby zonal railways.

 

ECoR will also facilitate 5 new enquiry counters, 30 additional ticket counters, four May I Help You booths, first aid booths, railway doctors and Para medical staffs, GRP and PRF control rooms, mela shed, area control rooms at puri railway station. For safety and security of the passengers more than 500 RPF personnel will be deployed in Puri, Bhubaneswar and Khurdha railway station besides adding more CCTV cameras on stations and platforms.
