A Special Task Force (STF) constituted by Odisha police, seized Leopard skin and a pair of Elephant tusks from Keonjhar district of Odisha, on Monday. Three person were arrested in the connection, stated the police.
According to the sources, the accused has been identified as Hasmati Alli, Chandrakant Dhal, Malaya K. Rout.
Following the tip-off about the trading of Leopard skin and Elephant tusk on Sunday. The STF conducted a raid and arrested the accused. They also seized a pair of Elephant tusks, Leopard skin and few incriminating articles, after the three failed to produce the documents related to the articles in their possession. Further, the accused will be summoned before the Judicial court.
The seized items (elephant tusks and leopard skin) will be forwarded to to Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun for chemical examination.
