Eminent Liver Transplant Experts Join KIMS
Bhubaneswar: April 28: Two eminent liver transplant experts Dr. Ashim Das and Dr. Ashok Kumar Choudhury have joined as visiting professors at the Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Bhubaneswar.
Dr. Ashim Das, an alumnus of Kolkata University, has undergone MD in Pathology from PGIMER Chandigarh. Subsequently, he has done his Diplomate of National Board (DNB) in Pathology. He was a member of the Royal College of Pathology and a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathology London. He has worked as a faculty in Histopathology at PGIMER Chandigarh from 1990 to 2021. Dr. Das has been a visiting Professor at JIPMER, Pondicherry.

Dr. Ashok Kumar Choudhury, an MD in Medicine. He has done his DM in Hepatology from the prestigious Institute of Liver & Biliary Sciences, New Delhi. A well-known clinician, Dr. Choudhury possesses 12 years of experience in Transplant Hepatology at the prestigious Institute of Liver & Biliary Sciences (ILBS), New Delhi. He has been a visiting faculty to Hum Lee Liver Transplant Centre, Richmond USA, and a Fellow observer in Liver Intensive Therapy Unit, King’s College Hospital London. He has joined as the Honorary Professor in the Department of Gastroenterology & Hepatology.
Both will help teach UG, PG, and DM students of KIMS, besides guiding them in research and coordinating liver transplant programs of KIMS.
