Cuttack, Mar 3: On Thursday, former Director General of Police (DGP) of Odisha, Bana Bihari Panda breathed his last at a private hospital here where he was undergoing treatment. He was 78. Few day back he had been admitted to the hospital for being suffering from Pneumonia. His son, Dibya Jyoti Panda said that Panda’s lungs were affected with Pneumonia due to which highest dosages of antibiotics was being administered. Yesterday at around 5.30 pm he passed away after getting two cardiac arrests. The mortal remains of Panda were brought to his residence located in CDA, Cuttack, where senior police officials paid their last respects. The last rites were performed at Satichaura in Cuttack.
Panda started his career as Puri SDPO in 1963 by qualifying in the civil services exam. In 2000, he was appointed as the DGP of Odisha post his various posts in Odisha police.
