Phulbani, Feb 7: Kondhmal police have seized explosives and Maoist articles during a combing operation in Dangarijori hill forest under Gochhapada police station limits in Kandhamal district recently.
The recovery was made during a combing operation late Friday evening, delayed reports said here.
During the combing operation, the ultras opened fire at the police, who retaliated. However, after a two-hour exchange of fire the Maoists managed to escape under the cover of darkness.
Police began a combing operation in the area in the morning and seized eight IED packets, six detonators, a solar plate, batteries, uniforms and blankets from inside the forest.
