Fake currency racket busted in Baripada, Odisha; cops seize Rs 16,000 fake notes

Baripada, Mar 10: A major fake currency racket has been busted with seizure of Rs 16,000 fake notes from Sagen Tudu (21) by Baripada police yesterday. The notes were of the denomination of the Rs 500. Tuhu was detained when he was trying to use the circulated fake notes by exchanging them in Sungodia area. A group of people informed about the matter to the police when they suspected about this racket going on. Acting on this, the cops intercepted him and on search, 32 number of fake Rs 500 notes were seized from his possession. The cops further informed that all the fake notes had got the same serial number and so it is suspected that the accused had made colour xeroxes of the same original fake note, with a purpose to cheat people.
