Farmers gathered in Haryana’s Karnal for the kisan Mahapanchayat.
Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) leaders including Rakesh Tikait, Balbir Singh Rajewal, Darshan Pal, Yogendra Yadav and Gurnam Singh Chaduni, have arrived for the Mahapanchayat and are demanding action against the police lathi charge on farmers on August 28.
Particularly, they are demanding action against the IAS officer who ordered police action on August 28 and also the Policemen who are involve in the lathi charge.
As invited by the district administration, 11-member delegation of farmer leaders met and discussed with the district administration, but the discussion could not find any conclusion.
Farmer leaders may decide the next course of action soon.
Haryana has also suspended mobile internet services in Karnal, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Jind and Panipat districts from 12:00 am Tuesday to midnight 24 hours later (11.59 pm).
Heavy Police forces have been deployed in the town to maintain law & order.
Farmers have been protesting on the outskirts of the Delhi against the three contentious farm laws passed by the Centre in the Parliament in September 2020 for more than nine months.
