Bhubaneswar, Feb 21: Over is the three-tier Panchayat elections with the Fifth and final panchayat poll election which ended today and has recorded a 76% attendance in an average, state wide, says a notification from SEC.
Forgetting the poll violence at some places, the election process continued smoothly and peacefully. While Sonepur recorded the major voters with 88% turnout, Ganjam recorded the least with 67%.
In a seeming measure, it looked good when the no. of voters increased from phase one elections to the last one. While the 1st and 2nd phase recorded 71% and 73% respectively, phase 4 and 5 recorded 75% and 76% voters respectively. Which counts up for an average of 74% voters in all the 5 phases of the three-tier panchayat elections.
