Sambalpur, Apr 4: In a tragic incident, a fire broke out at the Gol bazaar (market) here in Sambalpur early today hence burning down nearly 100 shops. No confirmation of the reason of fire has yet been found.
After being informed the fire brigade team reached the spot, who took nearly 3 hours to drench the fire off. Though no casualties have yet found, but the the shops have been completely burned down to ashes.
While as of sources, the fire brigade team doubt the reason of fire of a short circuit, some locals here allege that some miscreants did this. With this the town collector has ordered for a detailed investigation into the mater, added sources.
Meanwhile, Sambalpur MLA Raseswari Panigrahi after arriving at the spot has announced, the District admin is looking into the matter and is assessing the total loss. Compensation will be paid to the shop owners from the CM’s relief fund soon.
