Chief Secretary directed the departments to provide facilitating support for quick grounding of the projects
Bhubaneswar: May 30: In another boost to growth of industries in priority sectors, State Level Single Window Clearance Authority meeting held under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Sri Aditya Prasad Padhi today in secretariat conference hall has accorded in principle approval to 5 industrial projects envisaging investment of Rs.1508.1 cr. These units will create employment opportunities for around 2,155 persons. While giving nod to the project proposals, Chief Secretary Sri Padhi directed concerned departments to provide facilitating help to these industrial units from grounding till commissioning.
Replying to a media query after the meeting, Principal Secretary Industry Sri Sanjeeb Chopra said, “The approved projects include one polyester product manufacturing unit with 324,000 TPA at Textile Park of Bhadrak district. This park has the potential of growing to a polyester textile hub of eastern India. The proposal involves investment of Rs. 975.10 cr. Other approved projects include one Aluminum Manufacturing unit proposed to be set up at Angul Almunium Park with investment of Rs. 200 cr and employment potential of 500; Vegetable Oil Manufacturing units at Paradeep with investment of Rs.200 cr and employment potential of 920; Instant pasta, Vermicelli and Sweet Patato Powder unit at Khorda industrial estate with investment of Rs.71 cr and employment potential of 300; and, Integrated Cold Chain Service unit at sea food park Deras with investment of Rs. 62.10 cr having employment potential of 250. Apart from this, the proposal of Suguna Foods for change of location of its poultry feed from Bhubaneswar to Jayamangal Industrial area in Khorda district was also approved in the meeting. This unit envisages production of 1,24,800 Ton of feed per annum with employment potential of 486 persons.
Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary Sri R.Balakrishnan, Additional Chief Secretary Forest and Environment Sri Suresh Chandra Mohapatra along with Principal Secretaries, Secretaries and senior officers of various departments participated in the discussion. Principal secretary Industry Sri Sanjeeb Chopra presented details of the projects with their technical, environmental, land, water and manpower requirements.
