Forester’s half-burnt body recovered from house

Nayagarh: A Forester’s half-burnt body has reportedly been recovered from his house in Nayagarh district of Odisha yesterday night. The incident took place in Baramasi area.

The deceased has been identified as Forester Shishir Sahu of Pancharida Forest Range in Nayagarh district. He joined the Panchrida Range as a forester two months ago.

According to reports, late at night, when Shishir, his wife Namita and their son were at home, a fire broke out in the house. Shishir’s wife came out of the house screaming, the house was on fire.

Hence, the neighbours tried to douse the flames. Shishir’s wife was slightly injured while trying to douse the fire and rescue her family members. Her son was not harmed in any way. A scooty and furniture turned to ashes due to the fire.

On receiving the information, the Nayagarh Fire Department reached the spot and doused the fire. As the cause of the fire is unclear, many doubts have been raised about Shishir’s death. There is a suspicion that Shishir died by suicide by setting himself on fire or was killed by someone and then burnt. After getting information Nayagarh Town Police reached the spot and recovered body of the Forester. Police are questioning the deceased Forester’s son. Further investigation of the case is underway.
