Former ADG & Retired IPS officer of Crime Branch no more

Bhubaneswar, Aug 24: The former Additional DG, Crime Branch and retired IPS officer, Prafulla Kumar Mishra took his last breath on Monday night at Apollo Hospital in Bhubaneswar. He was 70 years old.

As per sources, he was suffering from lung infection since over a year. He was initially admitted in Vellore hospital, Tamil Nadu but for better treatment, he had to be shifted to a private hospital in Chennai last year. Later, while undergoing treatment at Apollo hospital here, he took his last breath on Monday following a cardiac arrest.

He was taken care of by his wife, two sons, daughter, two daughter-in-laws and son-in-law.

In 1970, Mishra started his career as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in the Odisha police and was later promoted to the post of Superintendent of Police (SP) in 1980.

In 2006, at the time of his retirement, he was working as an Additional Director General (ADG) of Crime Branch.

During his career, he had been felicitated with the President’s Medal and a number of State Police medals.
