Four investment proposals of worth INR 340 Cr receives Government nod

Bhubaneswar: October 25:  In another step towards creation of employment opportunities in the State,    Government of Odisha approved four investment proposals envisaging investment of Rs. 339.27 cr in State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) meeting held under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Sri Aditya Prasad Padhi in secretariat conference hall today afternoon wherein Principal Secretary Industry Sri Sanjeev Chopra outlined the project proposals for consideration.

These proposals will create employment opportunities for 1354 people. Giving in principle approval to the projects, Chief Secretary Sri Padhi directed concerned departments to make a realistic assessment of the requirement of land and water for these industrial units.

The departments were also asked to provide proactive and facilitating support for early grounding of the projects. Chief Secretary Sri Padhi further directed the Single Window Authorities to decide on the investment proposals received at their end within the prescribed time limit without fail. The proposals approved in SLSWCA today are principally in the sectors of metallic downstream , logistics and tourism.

The proposal of  a Delhi-based company to set up a manufacturing unit for steel tubes and pipes with capacity of 1,80,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) with an investment of INR 130 cr at Kalinganagar Industrial Complex, Jajpur received nod of the committee.  The plant will create employment opportunities for 600 people. The other proposals approved in the meeting included a downstream manufacturing unit of steel doors and windows with capacity of 1,80,000 annually at Kalinganagar with  investment of Rs. 92 cr  and employment potential of 250.   The proposal for a logistics park in Khurda district also received approval of the committee.  The logistics park will have warehousing facilities with  600 KW rooftop solar power plant. The facility will be utilized for storing FMCG, durable goods, apparel and pharmaceutical products. The project involves investment of INR 66.79 cr and will create jobs for 362 people.

The proposal of  a Berhampur-based real estate company  to set up a resort at Banthapali village in Berhampur  was also approved in the meeting. The resort will include cottages, banquet hall, restaurants, swimming pool and health club. The project will be established with an investment of Rs.50.48 cr and will create employment opportunities for 142 people.

Further, the Committee recommended the investment proposals of around Rs. 12,600 cr  in downstream aluminium, petrochemical and chemicals sectors  to HLCA for consideration.

Development Commissioner Sri R.Balakrishnan, Additional Chief Secretary Forest and Environment Sri Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, Additional Chief Secretary MS& ME Sri L.N.Gupta along with Principal Secretaries, Secretaries and senior officers of different departments participated in the discussions.
