Four passengers who landed at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) from London and Amsterdam last night have been found to be Corona positive. They have been admitted to Loknayak Jaiprakash Hospital in Delhi as a precaution, where a dedicated ward has been set up for isolating and treating such patients. The samples have been sent for genome sequencing.
The government has been taking such steps so that the Omicron variant of Corona, which is wreaking havoc in many countries of the world, does not reach India. Under this, corona examination of passengers is also being done at airports and if anyone is found infected then his sample is being sent for genome sequencing.
Lok Nayak Jayaprakash (LNJP) Hospital already has Kovid wards which have now been opened for patients infected with the new variant of Corona. Although no such case has come to light in Delhi so far, the Delhi government has instructed the officials that there should be no negligence regarding the corona virus.
From hospitals to surveillance, testing and vaccination, all the districts have also been asked to work together. Apart from these, the Health Department has also given instructions to continue the campaign of door-to-door investigation regarding corona vaccination.
