Bhubaneswar, Aug 23: In the Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday at the State Secretariat here, the Odisha Start-Up Policy-2016 and three other proposals are likely to get the green signal.

The policy would motivate entrepreneurship in the State through various incentive provisions for start-up ventures and would also help to enlist Odisha among the top three investment destinations in the country by 2020.

At the investors’ meet scheduled on August 26 in Bangalore, the Chief Minister would make public announcement about the new start-up policy.

As per the information, drinking water projects worth Rs 452 cores would also get the Cabinet’s nod at its meeting today. The projects would facilitate drinking water provisions to 54 villages located in near Berhampur city.

A discussion regarding approval of the recently passed GST bill in the Parliament will also be held at the meeting, as the bill needs to be ratified by at least 50 percent of State legislatures to become an Act in the country.
