Bhubaneswar, Apr 13: Today Odisha DGP KB Singh informed that during the two-day visit of PM Modi to the capital city scheduled to start from Apr 15, full-proof security arrangement has been made. 100 platoons of police and two companies of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is planned to be deployed. Four IG rank officers have been employed to be in-charge of the five sectors in which the capital city has been divided for security reasons. The airport, hotels and the Governor’s House where the PM will reside and the meeting venue, Janta Maidan has been divided as separate sectors where enough security will be deployed. Additionally, one separate IG rank officer will be taking care of the PM’s route lining. The CP along with the special protection group (SPG), the force responsible for PM’s security, headed by IG Jaswant Jethwa have prepared a blueprint of the entire security arrangements. Special Protection Group (SPG) officers will also provide support to the four IG rank officers to provide security cover to the Prime Minister. While 17 platoon police force have been deployed, 300 other officers have also been given charge for the smooth traffic flow. Place like airport, Janata Maidan and Lingaraj Temple, where Modi will be visiting have already been inspected by the security team. Five units of SOG and 15 SPs will also be stationed for security purposes. In order to control the crowd, physical barriers have been set upright.
In the meanwhile, security drill is being done on regular basis since the morning while the PM’s vehicular movement drill is also being practiced.
