Bhubaneswar, Feb 10: Commissionerate police on Tuesday claimed to have cracked the mysterious disappearance of Dipu Mallick and Om – two former aides of gangster Dhalsamanta brothers.

Commissioner YB Khurania said, “They (Dipu and Om) were killed in Odisha and their bodies were disposed outside the State.”

“Let the investigation reach that level, then only we will be able to share the details,” Khurania quipped when reporters persisted with querries.

However, it has not been ascertained if the gangsters killed them or hired killers to do the job, police sources said.

Notably, both Dipu and Om were working as tender fixers for the brothers and were used as sharp shooters, they souces added.

A team of Commissionerate Police, which searched the rented apartment of the Dhalsamant brothers in Vizag recently, had found the photograph and driving license of Dipu.

As per an FIR filed by Dipu’s father Adwaita Mallick in Chouliaganj Police Station in Cuttack, Dipu has been missing since 2013

The Dhal Samanta brothers were arrested from a rented house near Pokhariput area in Bhubaneswar on January 28. They are currently in police custody on a five-day remand and are being interrogated.
