Berhampur, May 13: In a horrific incident that happened on Thursday evening, a girl was charred to death at his residence in Patrachudi village in Ganjam by his so called lover, identified as Kanhu Charan Gouda.
Notably, the accused Kanhu, was in a one sided love affair with the girl. The girl after denying his proposal for many a times, when Kanhu started passing lewd comments on her, brought the matter to her brother, who had given him a warning to keep away.
Following to this, irate over the incidences, the boy finding the girl alone at her residence on Thursday evening choked her and set her on fire by pouring kerosene, killing her on the spot.
After reaching at the spot, the police have sent the body for post mortem, while a fresh case has been registered in the matter. The police have started the investigation and are in search of the accused, who is believed to be still at large.
