Headmaster suspended for being alcoholic
Kendrapara (Odisha) Feb 13: The headmaster of a government-run upgraded primary school was placed under suspension on the charge of perpetrating alcoholic nuisances in the school premises at Nurugaon in this district, an official said Saturday.
“During inspection of Nurugaon upgraded nodal primary school in Sanabada-Gopalpur gram panchayat yesterday, we found the school headmaster Anjan Kumar Sahu in drunken state.
“He was stammering and was unable to speak properly under alcoholic influence. Later during search of his office, IMFL bottles were recovered,” Block Education Officer Raj Kishore Swain said after a surprise inspection by a special squad of schools and mass education department.
After further inquiry, the officials came to know that the headmaster was a habitual alcohol addict and was vitiating the school environs. The offender was later suspended as he infringed the service code and rules, Swain said.
