Berhampur, Oct 20: As the government found poor infrastructure and less number of teaching faculties, the admission in Biju Patnaik Homeopathic College for Bachelors in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) has been canceled for this year. This was notified by principal in-charge of the college Nibedita Das.

A letter regarding this has been issued to the college by the central AYUSH department.

It may be noted that in the first year degree course, 25 students took admission every year in the college.

As per the information, five months back, a team of Central Council of Homeopathy had visited the college for inspection. Following the inspection report, the government had taken this decision to stall the admissions this year.  The college has only eight permanent teachers out of its total strength of 35 teaching posts, citing shortage of teaching faculty.
