Govt decides Block Grant to more high schools, Sanskrit tolls

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has decided to sanction block grant to a total of 438 high schools and Sanskrit tolls in the State.

A notification in this regard has been issued to provide block grant status to 399 high schools in 28 districts and 39 Sanskrit tolls. With this decision, 5074 teachers and non-teaching staff will be benefited from next month.

As per the decision, the teachers will be provided 40% block grant. As many as 3192 teachers and 1596 non-teaching staff will get benefits. Similarly, the government has identified 286 teachers working at 39 Sanskrit tolls to provide them block grant.

Among the high schools that are eligible for getting the block grant status such as – 19 in Angul, 38 in Balasore, 20 in Bargarh, 26 in Bhadrak, 16 in Bolangir, 1 in Boudh, 10 in Cuttack, 6 in Deogarh, 17 in Dhenkanal, 1 in Gajapati, 20 in Ganjam, 15 in Jagatsinghpur, 26 in Jajpur, 4 in Jharsuguda, 11 in Kalahandi, 17 in Kendrapara, 31 in Keonjhar, 14 in Khurda, 1 in Koraput, 39 in Mayurbhanj, 6 in Nuapada, 1 in Nabarangpur, 7 in Nayagarh, 24 in Puri, 2 in Rayagada, 7 in Sambalpur, 2 in Subarnapur and 17 in Sundergarh districts. Similarly, the eligible Sanskrit tolls are 7 in Balasore, 9 in Jajpur, 5 in Mayurbhanj, 5 in Puri, 2 in Kendrapara, 2 in Keonjhar and one each from Cuttack, Bolangir, Jagatsinghpur and Subarnapur districts to get the block grant status.
