Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj said on Saturday that the state government is committed to bring a transformative change in higher education by strengthening the foundation of colleges and universities to ensure students receive quality education.
The Minister was in Nuapada to lay the foundation stone for a Rs 5 crore project under the PM-USHA scheme at Khariar Autonomous College. On his two-day visit to Nuapada, Suraj also inaugurated newly constructed academic facilities built with the assistance from the World Bank.
The event was a historic occasion as a Higher Education Minister came to the college after 47 years. The Minister interacted with college authorities about the overall development and motivated students to aspire for excellence.
MLA Khariar Adhiraj Panigrahi, Former MP Basant Kumar Panda and College Principal Prashant Kumar Panda were also present at the event.
Suraj also participated in grievance hearings, attended a local cricket tournament to encourage young athletes and joined other district-level programmes.
