Govt. to fill up 21,201 posts in various departments soon

Bhubaneswar, Dec 09: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik  informed in the state assembly that different department of Odisha Government have submitted requisitions for 21,201 posts to the recruiting agencies, where as Government has already filled 31,186 vacancies across various departments since 2013.

Besides, the Government has stipulated that all new recruitees of state cadres in various departments must invariably be posted against the vacancies of KBK Districts, other tribal areas and the districts of Western Odisha in that order.

The Vigilance Department, between April 1, 2014 and November 30, 2015, has registered 823 number of criminal cases, in which 141 number of Class-I officers are involved. Out of these cases, 95 numbers of cases have been instituted for possession of disproportionate assets by public servants. 482 persons have been arrested which includes 34 number of Class-I officers during the above mentioned period,” said the Chief Minister in his address to the house while highlighting the anti-corruption stance of his government.

Speaking about transparency in tendering process, Patnaik spoke about the implementation of e-tender and e-procurement in the tender process and the provision of placing all tenders worth Rupees one hundred crore and above in Cabinet for approval.

He also added that 324 services have been notified by 23 different departments under Odisha Right to Public Services Act and steps are being taken to identify the processes for end-to-end computerization for online delivery of these services.
