Gajapati, Feb 6: Around 64 girl students of the Mohana government high school here left hostel on Monday upon the allegation that they are being harassed by the warden. The school is operated by the SC/ST department. It’s stated that a week ago, the girls had a heated word exchange with the warden as the latter did not let them watch the Saraswati Puja in the locality. After coming to know that the girls have ‘disobeyed’ his order, the warden allegedly abused and harassed them in the hostel. The girls too had alleged that substandard food is being provided in the hostel. Outraged by the behaviour of the warden, the girls vacated the hostel today morning. Also the parents of the students have staged a road block on the Berhampur-Rayagada road thus demanding action against the warden.
