HC stays hearing in ISKCON temple issue

Puri,( Odisha) Jan 30: Orissa High Court has passed an interim stay on any action by the District Administration on the controversial project of International Society for Krishna Consciousness’s (ISKCON) at Baliapanda in Puri.

Accordingly the hearing at the Puri Konark Development Authority (PKDA) scheduled for Friday was adjourned.

The High Court issued an interim stay in the matter till February 17 forbidding any action in the matter till further orders.

The PKDA had served notice to ISKCON authorities to appear before it with relevant documents.

ISKCON authorities had appeared before the district collector’s court today in this connection and through an affidavit informed the district collector’s court of the stay ordered by the High Court.
