Health Officials wake up after Kalahandi loses 27 inhabitants; Treatment begins

Bhawanipatna, Aug 13: A time came when in the last two months two tribal panchayats of places like Kerpai and Talanagi in the Kalahandi district experienced the death of 27 people due to Diarrhea, then the health department finally took a step forward towards this alarming situation in order to resolve it.

The medical authority from the district headquarters hospital has visited the affected place to render necessary treatment and provide medical help. They have also collected the blood samples of the victims and sent for examination. Unfortunately it’s stated that the officials are facing difficulties in treating the patients in these two extremely remote regions. The Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) of Kalahandi, Braja Kishore Brahma informed the media that as of now in the last two months 17 cases of death have been ascertained out of which, six are of children in a total of 19 villages, but the cause of this is yet to be known and hence investigation is been on in a rigorous manner.

Out of the blood samples being checked, only two malaria positive cases have come out, he concluded.
