Sambalpur, Feb 6: Odisha Health Secretary Arti Ahuja held talks with the officials of Veer Suredra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) and Junior Doctors Association in a bid to resolve the issues over which the JDA has threatened ‘Cease Work’ from February 10.
Ahuja visited all the departments of the hospital and spoke to the heads of departments, the Director, Prinicipal and Superintendent.
She discussed with them the 11-point demands of the Junior Doctor Association (JDA).
In the evening she held a meeting with the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Northern Division) N.B.S.Rajput, Collector Balwant Singh, Sambalpur MLA Rasaswari Panigrahi and health department officials.
Ahuja told newsmen after the meeting that the State Government is keen to resolve the issues raised by the Junior Doctors’ body in a phased manner.
The MRI unit, as demanded by the JDA, will be set up by March end, she assured and directed the Hospital authorities to ensure uninterrupted power supply and adequate security measures.
JDA president Shankar Ramchandani said, “We will decide on the future Course of our agitation on February 9.”
