Heavy downpour lashed Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar:  June 04:  Odisha capital came to a standstill because of heavy downpour of rain yesterday and today also Bhubaneswar witnessed moderate rainfall.

It has been recorded that Bhubaneswar received rainfall of 58 mm yesterday. People at places like Nayapalli, Jaydev Vihar, Acharya Vihar, Rasulgarh Square, Chintamaniswar and many more low lying were withheld through heavy water logging till knee deep. Traffic at Rasulgarh square and Acharya Vihar were also blocked due to the showers. Also one-foot high rainwater too flowed at the Capital Hospital Premises.

At the same time the youngsters are mesmerized with this change in season as they get a relief from this scorching heat all day.

“I am enjoying this weather although I am all drenched from top to toe but at the same time its sign of relief to me and to all the students who have to go out every day in this heat”, said a 24yr old Mass Communication student, Nishi Dang on her way to college.

Whereas an Office going person, Mohammad Aniqul Haque, standing at the Bus stop commented,” It’s terrifying to walk in this mud especially when you are going for important work. Monsoon is peace at the same time a hectic task for us too.”
