Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely to receive heavy rainfall coupled with gusty surface wind due to the low pressure area over Jharkhand and adjoining areas of the Gangetic West Bengal on Tuesday.
The associated upper-air cyclonic circulation has extended up to mid-tropospheric level, it said, adding, that heavy rainfall would occur at one or two places over North Odisha.
Gusty surface wind speed reaching 30 to 35 kmph gusting 45 kmph from south-westerly direction would prevail along and off Odisha coast. Sea condition would be moderate to rough, it said.
The IMD said the fishermen needed to be cautious while venturing into the sea.
