Helo crash kills Odia pilot, 3 critical

Bhubaneswar, Dec 12: In a Tragic helo crash in the Mumbai suburb Goregaon yesterday killed a pilot from Odisha and 3 others.

Identified as Prafulla Kumar Mishra, the deceased was flying a private helicopter belonging to Aman Aviation Pvt Ltd, with three others onboard. The helo R44 was on a sight seeing with the tourist, when it caught fire and dropped down at the Aarey Milk Colony behind the Mumbai Film City. Many locals in the area rushed to the spot to help the victims but, were all in vain, as all Mishra had already died by the time.

By the time, the Fire team had reached and took out two of the tourist and a co-pilot after dousing off the fire. Being admitted to the Seven Hills Hospital at Andheri East, Mishra was declared dead while the other three are said to be in critical condition.

The 52-year-old pilot hailed from Bhubaneswar and had joined the private airlines after retiring from the armed forces, said sources.
