Cuttack, Feb 9: A petition, regarding the confiscation of the land properties of about Rs 4 cr of the Hi-Tech group, has been filed by the Cuttack district administration in the Chit Fund Court. The petition has been filed by the Additional District Magistrate (ADM), Cuttack who is the Special Empowered Authority. He has made a request to grant permission to confiscate 55 acres of land of the Hi-Tech Group in Puri, Pipili, Bhubaneswar, Berhampur and Ganjam. Earlier, the Special Empowered Authority had sought permission of the Court for sale of land properties of the Hi-Tech Medical College and Hospital, Hi-Tech Dental College and other institutions of the Group which is now sub judice. It may be noted that cases have been registered against the Hi-tech Group by the Economic Offenses Wing of the Odisha Crime Branch on the basis of the allegations of massive land fraud through chit fund.
