Bhubaneswar, Mar 23: Today a hike of average 1.44% in the electricity tariffs was initiated by the Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC). However, for domestic consumers, the electricity tariff for the first 50 units of consumption will remain the same but after that the rate has been increased by 10 paisa per unit for all retail consumers. Likewise, for agricultural purposes, the tariff for the first 50 units of current will be the same. To be noted, electricity rates under the Biju Kutir Jyoti Yojana have been kept the same. So is the case for the electricity meter rentals.
