Bhubaneswar: September 30: To release extra water from the reservoir, three more of the Hirakud dam’s sluice gates have been opened.
In light of the reservoir’s rising water level as a result of the heavy rains in the upper catchment area, the dam authorities opened the gates on Saturday.
Hirakud Dam’s water level was 629.65 feet as opposed to its 630-foot maximum capacity, and the average inflow was roughly 1,16,088 cusec.
The extra water is now being let out through 10 gates, including seven on the left and three on the right, with the opening of three additional gates.
