Bhubaneswar: 12.07.2017: As announced in Railway Budget, it has been decided to introduce Bhubaneswar-Krishnarajpuram- Bhubaneswar Humsafar Express from 13th July, 2017. Hon’ble Union Minister of Railways Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu will flag off this train through video conferencing from Railway Board, New Delhi. Shri Jual Oram, Hon’ble Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India; Shri P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Hon’ble Union Minister of Civil Aviation; Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Petroleum & Natural Gas, Govt. of India will also grace the occasion at New Delhi. Apart from this, Shri Prabhu will lay the foundation stone for Mechanised Laundry under BOOT Model at Bhubaneswar Station and will inaugurate Free Wi-Fi service at Sambalpur & Vizianagarm Railway Station.
Shri Ashok Chandra Panda, Hon’ble Minister of State for Tourism & Culture (Independent Charge), Odisha;Dr. (Prof.) Prasanna Kumar Patasani, Hon’ble MP; Shri Bijaya Kumar Mohanty, Hon’ble MLA and Shri Priyadarshi Mishra, Hon’ble MLA will be present at the function at Bhubaneswar Railway Station. On the inaugural run, Humsafar Express will leave Bhubaneswar at about 1430hrs (02.30P.M) and in the return direction, this train will leave Krishnarajpuram at 11.15P.M on 14th July, 2017.
However, the regular service for this train will commence from Bhubaneswar w.e.f. 17.07.2017 and from Krishnarajpuram (Bangalore) w.e.f. 18.07.2017 as per the following timings. This is a fully Air-conditioned train with improved Passenger Amenities which would be appealing and comfortable, with extra safety mechanisms of Fire safety and Detection systems. All coaches are having Bio-Toilets, CCTV and odour control mechanisms. 22833 Bhubaneswar-Krishnarajpuram Humsafar Express will leave Bhubaneswar at 1200hrs (Noon) on every Monday and will reach at Krishnarajpuram at 1300hrs on the next day. In the return direction, 22834 Krishnarajpuram-Bhubaneswar Humsafar Express will leave Krishnarajpuram at 1605hrs on every Tuesday and will arrive at Bhubaneswar at 1745hrs on the following day.
This train has 16 AC-3 tier coaches, One Pantry Car and two guard cum generator car on it’s composition having stoppages at Khurda Road, Brahmapur, Palasa, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Duvvada, Rajahmundry, Eluru, Vijayawada, Ongole, Nellore, Gudur, Renigunta, Katpadi, Jollarpettai & Bangarpet Between Bhubaneswar And Krishnarajpuram.
The Mechanised Laundry at Bhubaneswar will be another important addition to Infrastructure for Better Passenger Services. This is one of the biggest laundries of Indian Railways with 14 Tonnes capacity and is to be commissioned by end of this financial year. The quality of Bedroll Linen is expected to significantly improve and will lead to enhanced passenger satisfaction.
