IIT Bhubaneswar holds its 5th Convocation on Aug 30

Bhubaneswar, Aug 31: Yesterday, on Tuesday Aug 30, Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar conducted its 5th Convocation in the Community Center at the Argul Campus near Jatni, here. Prof. Surendra Prasad, Chairperson, National Board of Accreditation and the Former Director of IIT Delhi was the Chief Guest of the occasion and delivered the Convocation Address.

A total of 241 meritorious students, including seven doctoral candidates were given their degrees. It’s stated that this year the campus bid adieu to the graduating students among which there are seven PhDs, 55 MTechs, 69 MSc and 110 BTEch students.

Priyam Dev belonging to the School of Electrical Sciences was awarded with the ‘President of India Medal’ for best academic performance among the entire outgoing BTech batch. The Director’s gold medal was awarded to Shubhashree Subudhi of the School of Mechanical Sciences for best academic performance among the entire outgoing MTech batch. This was informed by the IIT-Bhubaneswar Director, Prof RV Raja Kumar to the media. Alongside, Shweta Singh of the School of Earth, Ocean and Climate Sciences bagged the Director’s Gold medal for best academic performance among the entire outgoing MSc batch.

Also, for best academic performance in the respective schools, the institute silver medals were given to Pranay Gour, Priyam Dey and Bodepudi Revanth among the outgoing BTech batch.
