Bhubaneswar, Sept. 28: Eminent entrepreneurs and experts in the field interacted with over 1400 students at an IIT-Kharagpur sponsored Entrepreneurship Awareness Drive (EAD) at the SOA University on Tuesday.
“The idea of startups and innovative ventures, the present buzzwords, look to have an exciting future,” Mr. Gourav Kapoor, Executive Director of Kolkata-based Innokul, said.
The present scenario looks good for the young people if they chose to become entrepreneurs, he said.
The day-long interaction was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor of SOA University, Prof. Amit Banerjee who also stressed on the terms entrepreneurship, innovation and incubation saying India needed fresh ideas for boosting economic growth.
He thanked the e-Cell of IIT, Kharagpur, which organizes the EAD in 23 cities every year, for partnering SOA University in this exciting venture in Bhubaneswar.
Mr. Rupak Barua, CEO, Amri Hospitals Private Ltd was among the speakers.The activity included talks by entrepreneurs, panel discussions, product exhibition and interaction among students drawn from various institutions in Odisha as also from other neighbouring states.
Mr. Tanmay Mohanty, CEO and Founder of Luminous Infoways, chaired the panel discussion involving Mr. Sukant Kumar Meher, CEO and Founder of Odisha 24×7, Ms. Annada Mohanty, Technical Director, Nexus Techno Solutions and Mr. Nirmal Chandra Mohanty, General Manager of ONergy Solar. Prof. Jayadev Bala of Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), the faculty of engineering of SOA University also spoke.
