Bhubaneswar: Production in agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry and fisheries will be increased in Sambalpur district and special emphasis will be given to these four agricultural sectors and the livelihood of farmers will be improved. This will help in fulfilling the dream of ‘developed Sambalpur’, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has said.
Pradhan said that Sambalpur is an agricultural region and its economy is dependent on agriculture only. “Agriculture is the mainstay of the cultural and social unity of the region. It is commendable that the farmer brothers of Sanatanapali are benefiting from flower cultivation and encouraging others to do the same. Such an initiative in Sambalpur district will promote entrepreneurship and employment in the flower cultivation sector,” he said adding that the local economy will prosper and give a boost to flower cultivation.
In the coming days, this step will give a new shape to the market infrastructure of Sambalpur and efforts will be made to make Sambalpur a hub of floriculture under the double engine government, he added.
Under Modi’s leadership, ‘Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana’, ‘Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana’ and ‘Ayushman Bayo Vandana Yojana’ have been launched to provide good healthcare to the people of Odisha.
The MSP of paddy has been increased to Rs 3100 per quintal, Pradhan said and added that it is the responsibility of all of us to develop agriculture in Sambalpur district, and to turn it into a robust agricultural economy.
