India bagged 2 medals at FIDE World Junior Chess Championship

Bhubaneswar, Aug 22: Among the 145 participants in the FIDE World Junior Chess Championships, India won a silver and bronze medal at the championship held at KIIT University, Bhubaneswar.

In the girl’s event, PV Nidhia won a silver medal and in the boy’s event, Sundil Dutta Narayan got a bronze medal.

Among others, in boy’s segment, Jiyong Jaferi from USA became the champion and in girl’s segment, Dinara Sadukoshova of Kazakhstan won the gold medal.

In the award giving event, prizes and trophies were distributed by the Chief Guest, State’s Governor S C Jamir.

Participants from around 54 nations took part in this championship that was organized by Odisha Chess Association.
