India defeats New Zealand by 372 Runs
India defeats New Zealand by 372 runs in the second test played in Mumbai. This was the biggest win for the Indian team in terms of runs in the history of Test cricket.
On the third day of the match, India had set a target of 540 runs in front of NZ, in response, Kiwi team were bundled out for 167 runs. R Ashwin and Jayant Yadav managed to take 4-4 wickets in India’s memorable win.
New Zealand Team started the day with 140/5 and surrendered to Indian bowling in the first hour itself. Jayant Yadav, who was returning to Team India after five years, got four out of the last five wickets. Jayant picked up the wickets of Rachin Ravindra (18), Kyle Jamieson and Tim Southee (0) and Will Somerville (1) one after the other. New Zealand’s last wicket by R Ashwin in the form of Henry Nicholls (44) gave the Indian team a historic victory.
Mayank Agarwal became ‘man of the match’ whereas R Ashwin was the man of the series.
