India’s daily Covid-19 cases jumped to 2,82,970 as the country saw a spike after a few days of marginal dip in daily tally. The total tally (since the beginning of the pandemic) increased to 3,79,01,241 including 8,961 cases of the Omicron variant, according to the Union health ministry’s website.
The death toll rose 4,87,202 after over 400 people succumbed to the infection.
1,88,157 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 3,55,83,039.
Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 93.88%.

India’s Active Caseload is presently at 18,31,000. Active cases constitute 4.83% of the country’s total Positive Cases.
The last 24 hours saw a total of 18,69,642 tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 70.74 Cr (70,74,21,650) cumulative tests.
While testing capacity has been enhanced across the country, Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 15.53% and the Daily Positivity rate also reported to be 15.13%.
