New Delhi: July 23: India registered the highest single day spike of 45,720 fresh COVID-19 cases and 1,129 deaths in 24 hours. With this, Country’s total cases detected so far increased to 12,38,635. India is now adding a lakh cases on every three days.
According to the Health Ministry’s data, 7,82,607 persons have recovered from the infection so far and the recovery rate has increased further to 63.18 per cent. Also, 4,26,167 patients are active in the Country and under treatment.
With 1,129 fresh deaths, the overall toll reached 29,861.
Among Indian States, Maharashtra has 3,37,607 cases and 12,556 fatalities so far, followed by Tamilnadu with total 1,86,492 cases and 3,144 deaths and Delhi with 1,26,323 cases and 3,719 deaths.
Cases in Karnataka has been growing fast and it is now a hot spot state with 75,833 cases so far.
Besides, Andhra Pradesh reported 64,713 cases in total, followed by Uttar Pradesh (55,588) and Gujarat (51,399).
Telengana and West Bengal have 49, 259 and 49, 321 cases respectively.
