Another ODI series was lost by India, this time to Bangladesh. India’s trip to Bangladesh in 2022 included three one-day internationals and two tests against Bangladesh. Bangladesh has already clinched the ODI series and has now won twelve of the previous thirteen ODI series on home soil.
Following the conclusion of the ODI series against Bangladesh, India and the host will play two test matches. On December 14, India and Bangladesh will face each other in their first test match.
In the absence of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul will captain the Indian team in the first test against Bangladesh. According to the BCCI, India skipper Rohit Sharma saw a specialist in Mumbai for the injury he sustained to his left thumb during the second ODI against Bangladesh. He has been prescribed the necessary treatment for his injury and will miss the first Test against Bangladesh.
His availability for the second and final Test will be determined at a later date by the BCCI Medical Team. The All-India Senior Selection Committee has chosen Abhimanyu Easwaran to replace him in the first Test.
The fast bowler Mohd Shami and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja are ruled out of the Test series due to their shoulders and knees injuries, respectively. Navdeep Saini and Saurabh Kumar have been picked as replacements for Shami and Jadeja, respectively, by the selectors. The selection committee has also included fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat in India’s Test team.
