Mixed 50 M Pistol SH1 Event, Indian Para Shooters Bag Gold & Silver

India had a good start on the 11th day at the Tokyo Paralympics. In shooting, Manish Narwal has won gold and Singhraj Adhana has won silver medal in SH-1 category 50m air pistol. In badminton, in SL-4, Noida DM Suhas Yathiraj also reached the final to ensure India’s second medal today. Earlier, Pramod Bhagat ensured at least a silver medal for India in SL 3.

Manish scored 209 in the final, while Singhraj won the silver medal with a score of 207. Earlier, Adhana was fourth in the qualification round with 536 points, while Narwal was seventh with 533 points. Adhana has won bronze medal in 10m air pistol.

Pramod defeated Fujihara Daisuke of Japan 21-11, 21-16 in the semi-finals to reach the final. On the other hand, Suhas defeated Freddy Setiawan of Indonesia 21-9, 21-15. With this, India will have 15 medals in Tokyo. Suhas is the DM of Noida. Even before this, he has won medals for the country at the international level.

Pramod Bhagat will clash with Bethel Daniels for the gold medal. Bethel defeated Manoj Sarkar 21-8, 21-10 in the semi-final. Now Manoj Sarkar will take on Fujihara Daisuke for the bronze medal. Both the matches will be played at 3 pm.

On the other hand, Suhas Yathiraj will take on Mazur Lucas for the gold medal in the SL-4 category. The final match will be played on Sunday. In the same category, Tarun Dhillon will take on Freddy Setiawan of Indonesia for the bronze medal.

Earlier on Friday, India had got 3 medals. Harvinder Singh won the third medal for India in Archery. He defeated the Korean archer in the shoot-off in the bronze medal match. Before him, Avani Lekhara of Rajasthan won the bronze medal in the 50m air rifle. Apart from Avani, Praveen Kumar also won the medal for the country. He won the silver medal in high jump with a new Asian record. He got this medal in the high jump of T-64 category.

India now has 14 medals in Tokyo. So far in 53 years 12 medals have come in 11 Paralympics. The Paralympics have been taking place since 1960. India has been participating in the Paralympics since 1968. India did not participate in 1976 and 1980.
