International Radio Fair 2017 held in Odisha capital from Feb 12

Bhubaneswar, Feb 14: The International Radio Fair has is conducted at the exhibition ground, here from Feb 12 ad would continue till today, Feb 14. On the first day, actor Annu Kapoor attended the inaugural ceremony and said that it is the collective responsibility of everyone that radio, the oldest system of broadcasting in the country does not get abolished. He spoke about his own experiences as a radio presenter and also how it has been the turning point in his life. Various international and national radio station heads and popular radio jockeys such as Shri Dipak Samantaray of Prasar Bharati, Odisha were present at the inaugural event. The National Radio Award has also been introduced for the first time to honour the ones who have dedicated his life to promote radio broadcast. Shri Akhil Mittal was also one of the dignitaries present at the event. He was feliciated with the lifetime achievement award. Mittal spoke on the evolution of radio over the years. The fair hosted by Outreach, had displayed around 1500 old radio sets, gramophones records and various other antique items. An online radio channel, www.radiobhubaneswar.com, will also be launched at the fair. This online radio channel would focus on live broadcasting of events being held in the capital city. Odisha Network of Community Radio observed a two-day event starting from Feb 13 and Feb 14 to inform, educate and entertain people through community radio platforms.
